Favorite Luxury Hotels in Mexico
Mexico is one the best and easiest locations to travel to from the U.S. Incredible food, culture and some the most beautiful beaches in the world make it one of our favorite places to travel. Mexico is also home to some of the most beautiful resorts in the world with service to match. Read below for our favorite luxury hotels in Mexico in no particular order.
Cabo San Lucas
This beach-front property feels like what a traditional Mexican hotel should feel with handmade tiles and a stunning infinity pool. It is also located on one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo. You also have your very own butler and the wonderful kid’s club makes this perfect for a family vacation.
Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas
This new luxury development home to this new(ish) Four Seasons stunner, and the future home of an Aman hotel. The beach is wide and swimmable, and everything at the hotel is new and beautifully designed. The only downside is this is about an hour from Cabo San Lucas so you’re limited to activities on the property otherwise be ready for a drive.
Punta Mita
We honeymooned here years ago, so we’ve always been partial to the St. Regis Punta Mita as one of our favorite hotels in Mexico. The views are beautiful and the food (check out Mita Mary’s) is some of the best we’ve experienced in Mexico. The service here is impeccable.
Riviera Maya
The Riviera Maya is home to some of the world’s most spectacular beaches, and Maroma, a Belmond hotel, is no exception. There is a laidback luxury feel at this resort, set between the jungle and the turquoise sea.
This boutique hotel may be the smallest on our list, but it has everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. Consistently listed as one of the top hotels in Mexico by every travel magazine in the biz, this is barefoot luxury at it’s best.
This hotel may be the opposite of the small and charming Escencia listed above, but this is a great option if you are looking for a large resort set in a gated complex of three other resorts with beautiful rooms with ocean or lagoon views. We love the winding mangrove lagoons surrounding this resort. While it is spread out, taking a boat to dinner is a wonderful treat.
Mexico City
Is this the coolest hotel in Mexico City? The art and design that fill this 19-room mansion-turned-hotel would certainly point to yes. The location in Polanco is fantastic as well.
San Miguel de Allende
Rosewood San Miguel de Allende
This is the most charming hotel in possibly the most charming city in Mexico. Set in a fantastic location with views over the entire city, this is a must-visit hotel in San Miguel.
