London with Kids: A Travel Guide
We hopped across the pond for a wonderful spring break trip to London. Traveling with a 4 and 7 year old proved to be easy enough, and they thoroughly enjoyed the sights, culture and experiences. Read below for our favorites to make your trip to London with kids a success.
STAY
The Soho Hotel, Firmdale Hotels
We had a wonderful time at this beautifully designed hotel, close to all the best West End shows and some of the best restaurants. Everything is designed by Kit Kemp, from the spacious suites to the afternoon tea cups. It’s the perfect spot to rest after a day of shopping and sightseeing.
Great location overlooking Waterloo Bridge, this high-end, kid-friendly hotel is a quiet alternative to London’s hustle and bustle.
TO DO
Bus Tour
When traveling to London with young children, don’t miss a Brigit’s Bakery double-decker bus tour. They have Peppa Pig-themed tours for toddlers and Paddington-themed tours for big kids. Book early to get the best seats in teh front row of the top deck. Tours are a quick hour, full of entertainment and centered around afternoon tea snacks. Perfect to do on your first day in town, even for the most jet-lagged families.
Take in a Show in the West End
The West End has so many amazing shows for theater aficionados and kids alike. We saw Matilda, which our 4 and 7yo boys LOVED, but the Lion King is also a forever-hit with kids.
Meander around the Tate Modern
This legendary museum was also surprisingly kid-friendly, with lots of activities to keep children entertained.
Take a trip around the London Eye
Who doesn’t love a Ferris wheel, especially when that ferris wheel offers incredible view of London at any time of day. Our kids asked to do it again every day of our trip .
