Arrival

If you’re searching for a Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas Cabo review, the first thing to understand is the location. After landing at Los Cabos International Airport, it’s about a one-hour drive to the East Cape. It’s not difficult, but it does make this feel like more of a commitment than typical Cabo resorts. Once you arrive, though, the shift is immediate. It’s quieter, more open, and far removed from Cabo San Lucas.

Location: East Cape vs Cabo San Lucas

Costa Palmas sits on the East Cape of Los Cabos, which is still developing and intentionally removed from the main Cabo corridor. This creates a very specific type of stay. You’re not heading into town for dinners or exploring off-property—you’re staying within the resort community. If you’re deciding between Four Seasons Costa Palmas vs One&Only Palmilla or Las Ventanas, the biggest tradeoff is this: Costa Palmas offers a swimmable beach and space, while those resorts offer better location and more polished service.

Rooms

Rooms are modern, functional, and easy to live in. They lean into a neutral, Baja-inspired aesthetic with large terraces and a strong indoor-outdoor flow. Nothing feels overly designed, but everything works—especially for families staying multiple nights. We stayed with our two kids in an Ocean-View King room with a pull-out sofa and there was plenty of space for our family.

Beach: The Best Swimmable Beach in Cabo

The beach is the reason to book this resort. Unlike most of Cabo—where beaches are often too rough to swim—the water here is calm, clear, and genuinely usable. You can swim, paddleboard, and let kids play safely. It’s even calm enough for a water trampoline. If you are specifically looking for swimmable beaches in Los Cabos, this is one of the best options.

Food

Food is one of the strongest parts of the experience—and it needs to be, given the location. Almost every single dish we tried (and we tried A LOT over five days) was excellent. Delphine’s and Mozza can be reached via a complimentary water taxi to the marina, which was a fun way to start the meal.

Estiatorio Milos – standout seafood and consistently excellent, home to the incredible breakfast buffet.

Casa de Brasa – casual, reliable, and family-friendly pool restaurant

El Puesto – sushi and cocktails in a relaxed setting, a la carte menu at lunch

Mozza – elevated Italian by Nancy Silverton and accessible by water taxi

Limon – lighter, outdoor dining that fits the East Cape in a garden setting

Delphine’s – marina-side dining designed to evoke a Saint Tropez beach club. Come for lunch.

There’s enough variety that you won’t feel stuck repeating meals, which is critical at a remote resort.

Kids Club & Family Factor

For families, this is one of the best resorts in Cabo. Beyond a strong kids club (catered more to younger children than our 6 and 9yo) there are small details that make a big difference. The water trampoline is a highlight, and complimentary bikes make it easy to get around the property without waiting for carts. One of the more unique touches is the ability to take water taxis to dinner, which turns something simple into an experience kids actually look forward to.

Combined with the swimmable beach, and a great family-friendly pool, this is one of the few Cabo resorts where traveling with kids feels genuinely easy.

Service

Service is where this property falls short. It felt inconsistent throughout the stay, with slower response times and a lack of proactive attention. Two of the four nights of our stay, we didn’t received turn down service (important when your kids are sleeping in a pull-out bed) and one day we never received housekeeping. While nothing was dramatically wrong, it definitely didn’t meet the level you expect from a Four Seasons. Hopefully, they are able to add more staff moving forward to make this a truly exceptional resort.

Spa/Gym

The spa was a highlight of our trip, with a beautiful relaxation area and treatment rooms in individual casitas. I thoroughly enjoyed my 90-minute massage treatment with Beatriz. The gym was also one of the nicest (and largest) gyms we’ve come across while traveling. It clearly wasn’t an afterthought in the hotel design.

What Could Be Better

There is still ongoing construction, including Aman-branded residences and additional development within Costa Palmas. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s noticeable enough to impact the overall polish. The distance from the airport is also a factor. While it creates the quiet setting, it limits flexibility and makes shorter trips less appealing.

It’s about one hour from Los Cabos International Airport on the East Cape.

Yes—with some caveats. The beach, food, and family setup are excellent, but service and ongoing construction hold it back from being top-tier.

Final Verdict

Four Seasons Costa Palmas is not a perfect Four Seasons—but it is still worth recommending. The combination of a swimmable beach, strong dining, and one of the best family setups in Cabo makes it stand out in a crowded market. If service improves and construction wraps, this could easily become one of the best resorts in Mexico. For now, it’s a high-upside stay that most travelers—especially families—will be very happy they booked.
