Best Restaurants Isla Holbox

The food in Isla Holbox is fantastic. Being so remote it’s almost surprising how high-end some restaurants were on this tiny island. Also, all of the below restaurants were good for kds, even if they didn’t all have dedicated kids’ menus. Find more of our Isla Holbox recommendations here.

Trendy and delicious Mexican tapas restaurant at Luuma

Luuma: Amazing tapas in a magical and trendy garden setting very close to downtown.

Roots Pizzeria: This pizza place is famous for its lobster Pizza. There’s also a trampoline inside the restaurant which the kids loved, but it looked a little sketchy from a safety perspective.

Mandarina: Fantastic beachfront location close in Casa Las Tortugas. Tasty food. They also have a great beach club if you meet the mandatory minimums.

Barba Negra: Great tacos and tostadas with a hipster vibe.

Mr. Happy: Amazing breakfast with a super cute atmosphere. We went here several times during our trip, and for weeks after we got home the girls kept asking when we could go back to Mr. Happy’s to get their Nutella pancakes.

Quartieri Holbox: Great pizza restaurant. We actually liked this better than the famous Roots pizza.

Casual vibes and delectable tacos at Maiztro.

Maiztro: Incredible tacos and cocktails. We also ate here multiple times during our stay because the girls loved the tacos and the very cute bulldog who makes this restaurant his home. Try the birria tacos.
