Four Seasons Orlando Review: The Disney Hotel That Works for Parents Too
The Short Answer
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World is the best luxury resort at Disney for families, and our stay backed that up. It strikes a rare balance between real elegance and real kid fun. There's a five-acre water park, dive-in movies at the family pool, free supervised play for kids during dinner at Ravello, and a Michelin-starred rooftop steakhouse with fireworks views. You also get Disney's 30-minute early park entry. The one con is the park shuttle, which doesn't run often. Expect rates to start above $1,000 a night.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Explorer Island, a five-acre water park with a lazy river, two slides and a splash zone
Dive-in movies at the family pool a few times a week
Free Pasta & Play childcare during dinner at Ravello
Early Theme Park Entry, 30 minutes before the general public
Cons
The park shuttle runs infrequently, which can eat into early entry
Rates start above $1,000 a night
Oddly enough, on the drive in from the airport, our Uber driver warned us we wouldn't see any kids at the Four Seasons. She was very confident. Then we walked into the lobby, and immediately saw a small slide and other kids play equipment with lots of kids using them.
That moment sums up this hotel. From the outside it reads as polished and grown-up. Inside, it's quietly built around families. There was minimal Mickey decor, but mostly it was designed in typical Four Seasons fashion. It felt elegant, but nobody blinks when a six-year-old in a wet swimsuit cuts through the lobby. It feels like a proper Four Seasons resort that just happens to love kids.
The resort sits inside the gated Golden Oak community, fully surrounded by Walt Disney World. So it's calm and private, but the parks are right there.
Explorer Island and the Kids' Pool
Explorer Island is the reason most families book, and it lives up to the hype. It's a five-acre water park with a lazy river, two waterslides, a splash zone and a huge zero-entry family pool. Our kids could have spent the whole trip there. Honestly, so could we.
The family pool also hosts dive-in movies a few times a week. Kids float, a film plays on the big screen, and parents get a breather. It's a simple idea that works brilliantly after a long park day. Ask the front desk for the week's schedule when you check in.
The complimentary Kids For All Seasons club runs daily for ages 4 to 12. The Hideout for older kids was also well-appointed with a pool table and tons of arcade games. There's also an adults-only pool for when you need a real break. Cabanas there sell out, so book ahead if you want one.
Dining
Ravello
The steak at Ravello is a must. It was one of the best meals of our trip, and that's saying something at a resort with a Michelin star upstairs. Ravello is the resort's modern Italian restaurant, and it carries a Michelin recommendation of its own.
The real game changer is Pasta & Play. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, kids ages 4 to 12 can head out for supervised play with the kids club team once they've eaten. It's free for Ravello diners. You actually get to finish dinner like adults. Sign up at the host stand when you arrive. Kids 5 and under also eat free at Ravello with a paying adult.
Ravello also hosts the Goofy character breakfast on select mornings, which is an easy win if your kids want a character meal without a park reservation scramble.
Capa
We have to be honest here. A flight delay meant we missed our Capa reservation. Painful. But we can still safely vouch for it. Capa is the 17th-floor Spanish-inspired steakhouse, and it's held a Michelin star every year since Florida's first guide in 2022. The terraces look out over the Disney fireworks. Book well ahead, and try to time your reservation around the fireworks. Kids-eat-free doesn't apply here, so this is your date night. Pair it with Pasta & Play earlier in the week and you've solved two dinners.

Service
Service was great. Warm, fast and never stiff. Staff were genuinely good with our kids, which is not a given at hotels at this price. Small things got handled before we had to ask. It felt like classic Four Seasons, adapted for families who are tired and sticky by 4pm.
Disney Access: Early Entry and the Shuttle
As a Disney partner hotel, Four Seasons guests get Early Theme Park Entry, so you're in the parks 30 minutes before the general public. That half hour is gold. It's when you knock out the big rides with no lines.
Here's the catch, and it's our only real complaint. To get there, you take the resort's complimentary shuttle to the four main parks. It runs on a schedule, and not often. Miss one and you can lose a chunk of that early-entry advantage. Check the shuttle times the night before and plan your morning around them. If timing is critical, ask the concierge about a private car for that day. There's also no resort transportation to Disney Springs.
Rooms and Rates
Four Seasons Orlando is one of the most expensive hotels at Disney, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. Standard rooms typically start somewhere above $1,000 a night in quieter weeks. They can climb well past $2,000 during holidays and school breaks. Fireworks-view suites run into the thousands.
We were upgraded to a Park View Suite, and it was perfect for a family. The sofa bed gave the kids their own spot to sleep. The balcony is huge. Every night at 9pm we watched fireworks over both Epcot and Magic Kingdom from it, kids in pajamas, no crowds. If fireworks matter to you, book park view. Lake-view rooms are quieter and feel more like a classic resort.
Is it a lot? Yes. But you're getting a water park, a free kids club, free childcare during dinner and kids-eat-free dining for little ones. For families, that closes some of the gap with Disney's own deluxe hotels.
Best Time to Visit and Book
The best time to visit Four Seasons Orlando is late September through early November, skipping holiday weeks, or January into February. Crowds at the parks are lighter and resort rates are at their softest. Summer and the Christmas to New Year stretch are peak. Expect the highest rates then.
Book three to six months out for holidays and spring break. Reserve Capa as early as you can, especially for a fireworks-view table. And sign up for Pasta & Play on arrival, since it only runs three nights a week.
Is Four Seasons Orlando Worth It?
If you're doing Disney with kids and want it to feel like a real vacation, yes. This is the resort that lets parents enjoy a great dinner and a quiet pool while the kids have the time of their lives. The water park, the dinner childcare and the service make it.
It's less ideal if you plan to be in the parks from rope drop to fireworks every day and want walk-to-park convenience. The shuttle schedule will frustrate you. In that case, a Disney monorail hotel may suit your trip better. For more Florida options, see our guide to the best luxury hotels for families in Florida.
